Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:
Friday, May 31: At 4:41 pm the sheriff, a deputy, Greene County Ambulance, and Grand Junction fire responded to a car- tractor accident on County Road E-26 (170th St) near County Road P-33 (S Ave) in Junction Township. Michael Anderson, 57, of Eagle Grove was westbound on E-26 and attempted to pass a tractor driven by Charles Gunn, 69, of Jefferson. Gunn started to turn and Anderson struck the bucket of the tractor. There were minor injuries and no one was transported. Anderson was cited for passing at an intersection. Damage to his 2014 Ford Focus exceeded value. Damage to the loader on the tractor was estimated at $7,000. At 9:19 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of people fishing from a bridge on 26th St and Quaker Ave in Grant Township.
Thursday, May 30: At8:34 am deputies assisted the JPD with trying to locate a male subject who fled in the 700 block of N. Wilson Ave. At 5:12 pm a deputy investigated a trespass complaint in the 600block of 250th St in Scranton Township. At 9:38 pm a deputy assisted with livestock on Highway 30 at K Ave west of Jefferson.
Wednesday, May 29: At 1:34 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in Rippey. At 3:20 pm a deputy investigated a gas drive-off at Casey’s General Store in in Grand Junction. At 3:35 pm a deputy investigated a controlled substance that was found at Casey’s in Grand Junction. At 10:13 pm a deputy investigated a noise complaint in Grand Junction.
Tuesday, May 28: At 7:27 pm a deputy assisted with a gas leak in the 500 block of S. 12th St in Grand Junction. At 7:37 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident in the 1800 block of County Road E-53 west of Grand Junction. Bailey Clark, 27, of Ogden struck a deer with her 2016 Town and Country, causing an estimated $3,000 damage to the vehicle. At 10:42 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 30 at Orchard Ave east of Jefferson. Zachary Claassen, 26, of Boone struck a deer with his 2017 Dodge Journey, causing an estimated $3,000 damage to the vehicle.
Monday, May 27: At 11:34 am a deputy assisted with a tree down in the roadway on 260th St and W Ave in Washington Township.
Sunday, May 26: At 12:39 am a deputy investigated a noise complaint in Paton. At 3;04 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a domestic assault.
Saturday, May 25: At 12:17 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a domestic assault in Jefferson.
Friday, May 24: At 6:31 pm a deputy investigated a single-vehicle rollover accident on Jordan Avenue near 230th St in Jackson Township. Dylan Ades, 16, of Rippey lost control of a 1998 GMC Sierra and rolled the vehicle. No one was injured. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $3,000. At 6:37 pm a deputy investigated a domestic assault in Churdan.
Thursday, May 23: At 12:18 pm a deputy investigated a dog bite in Paton. At 1:17 pm a deputy investigated a dog complaint in Rippey. At 8 pm a deputy investigated suspicious activity in the 200 block of E. Main St Grand Junction. At 8:59 pm a deputy investigated a violation of a no contact order in the 2200 block of County Road N-58 (A Ave) in Willow Township.
Wednesday, May 22: At 6:33 am a deputy investigated storm damage to a Morton building in the 600 block of 260th St in Scranton Township. At 10:50 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with searching a car in the 100 block of Ram Drive. At 11:50 am a deputy, Jefferson fire department, Grand Junction fire department, and Greene County EMS responded to a hog confinement fire in the 1100 block of 305th St in Greenbrier Township.
Tuesday, May 21: At 4:33 pm a deputy investigated a washed-out roadway on 195th St near Eaton Ave in Kendrick Township. Between 7:05 and 7:38 pm deputies assisted with two trees down in Churdan and one down in the 500 block of N Ave. At 10:34 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a domestic assault.
Monday, May 20: At 8:29 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on County Road E-53 (235th St) near Quint Ave in Grant Township. Corey Gohn, 24, of Grand Junction struck a deer with his 2012 Chevrolet Impala. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,000.
Sunday, May 19: At 3:40 am a deputy investigated a burglary in Grand Junction. At 4:50 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a traffic stop in the 1900 block of N. Elm St.
Saturday, May 18: At 11:58 am a deputy investigated a vicious dog complaint in Rippey. At 12:26 pm a deputy investigated two gas drive-off complaints at Casey’s General Store in Grand Junction. At 6:40 pm a deputy tried to locate a pig running loose on Highway 144 near County Road E-26 (170th St) near Dana.
Friday, May 17: At 3:02 am a deputy investigated suspicious activity in the 1400 block of County Road E57 (290th St) in Franklin Township. At 1:02 pm a deputy investigated a criminal mischief complaint in Grand Junction. At 1:06 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 600 block of B Ave in Cedar Township. At 4:59 pm a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 1900 block of 130th St in Paton Township.
Thursday, May 16: At 11:19 am a deputy and Greene County Ambulance responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Orion Ave and 243rd St in Grant Township. John Roberts, 20, of Grand Junction lost control of his 2002 Ford F150 pickup truck and rolled the truck onto its top. Damage to the vehicle exceeded value. There were minor injuries but no transport. Roberts was cited for failure to maintain control. At 1:18 pm a deputy and the Jefferson fire department responded to a tractor fire on P Ave just south of 310th St in Franklin Township. The Case IH MX200 tractor was a total loss and the planter was also damaged.
Wednesday, May 15: At 2:22 am a deputy investigated an assault on Highway 144 near County Road E-26 (170th St) in Dana. At 10:39 am a deputy investigated a single-vehicle accident on Highway 144 and 120th St in Paton Township. Kathy Long, 44, of Dayton lost control of her 2004 Buick Rendezvous and rolled it three times, totaling the vehicle. The driver and a passenger were transported by Greene County Ambulance to Greene County Medical Center with minor injuries. Long was cited for failure to maintain control. At 11:50 am a deputy assisted Boone County with a semi that was on fire on Highway 30 and D Ave in Boone County. At 2:05 pm a deputy investigated a power pole that was struck and laying in the roadway on Highway 4 and 130th St in Paton Township. At 4:32 pm a deputy investigated a child neglect case in Grand Junction. At 5:26 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a aggressive dog in Farlin. At 10:29 pm a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 900 block of County Road E-19 (140th St) in Highland Township.
Tuesday, May 14: At 12:46 pm a deputy investigated a trespass complaint in the 800 block of Highway 144 in Junction Township. At 2:54 pm a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 2200 block of 240th St in Junction Township. At 10:11 pm a deputy contacted Union Pacific railroad about a malfunctioning crossing arm at 9th and Main St in Grand Junction.

Sunday, May 12: At 5:25 am a deputy investigated a domestic assault in Churdan. Joshua LaClair, 34, of Churdan was arrested for domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury- second offense*. At 9:04 am a deputy investigated a truancy complaint in Grand Junction. At 3:51 pm a deputy conducted a traffic stop on E Ave near County Road E-19 (140th St) in Cedar Township. William Becker, 60, of Paton was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence- second offense.

Friday, May 10: At 12:44 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 1400 block of 290th St in Greenbrier Township. At 9:10 am a deputy investigated a truancy complaint in Grand Junction. At 11:25 am a deputy investigated a trespass complaint on Kirkwood Avenue near 230th St west of Jefferson. At 7:10 pm a deputy investigated an assault in the 1700 block of F Ave in Scranton Township. At 8:04 pm a deputy investigated a driving complaint in Scranton and arrested Kole Higgins, 24, of Scranton for an arrest warrant to serve a sentence.
Thursday, May 9: At 4:48 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 100 block of Q Ave in Dawson Township.
Wednesday, May 8: At 4:35 am a deputy investigated a single-vehicle rollover accident on County Road P-46 (W Ave) and 250th St in Junction Township. Kadin Jensen, 17, of Vincent lost control of his Oldsmobile Alero and rolled once. The vehicle landed on its wheels in the east ditch. The vehicle was totaled in the accident. Grand Junction fire and rescue and Greene County Ambulance responded. Greene County Ambulance transported the Jensen with minor injuries to the Greene County Medical Center. At 7:18 am deputies assisted with locating a runaway child in Grand Junction.

Monday, May 6: At 5 am a deputy assisted with getting cattle back in the fence on County Road E-26 (170th St) near Terrace Ave west of Dana. At 9:17 am a deputy investigated a theft in Scranton. At 7:52 p a deputy investigated a trespass complaint in the 1600 block of Newberry Ave in Grant Township.
Sunday, May 5: At 7:17 am a deputy assisted the Jefferson PD with a trespass complaint in Jefferson.
Saturday, May 4: At 3:26 pm a deputy, Jefferson fire and Greene County Ambulance assisted the Jefferson PD with motorcycle accident on N. Elm St at W. Reed St. At 4:42 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in Grand Junction. At 8 pm a deputy arrested James Hoyle, 20, of Beaver for a probation violation. At 8:58 pm a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in Churdan.
Friday, May 3: At 10:08 am a deputy investigated a theft in Scranton. At 10:22 am Heidi Chapman, 30, of Perry was booked into the jail for failure to appear. At 4:32 pm Douglas Strang, 62, of West Des Moines was booked into the jail for failure to appear. At 8:48 pm a deputy investigated a cat bite in the 1300 block of K Ave in Bristol Township.
Thursday, May 2: At 12:14 am a deputy investigated a dog bite that occurred in Grand Junction. At 7:53 am a deputy assisted with locating the owner of cattle that were out at County Road E-57 and A Ave in Willow Township. At 4:12 pm a deputy arrested Bradley Conklin, 36, of Scranton on an arrest warrant for possession of marijuana and driving while barred- failure to serve sentence*. At 5:35 pm a deputy arrested Richard Norton Jr, 39, of Panora for public intoxication in Scranton. At 5:48 pm a deputy investigated an assault in Rippey. At 7:37 pm a deputy assisted the Jefferson with an assault.
Wednesday, May 1: At 7:52 pm a deputy investigated a theft in Rippey. At 10:15 pm a deputy investigated an assault that occurred in the area of County Road E-57 (290th St) and Highway 4 in Franklin Township. At 10:29 pm a deputy investigated a burglary in Rippey.
